Colin has been training in martial arts since 1988, being accredited with black belts in Atemi Jutsu, Judo, Shotokan Karate, Aikido and Iaido. With the philosophy of 'go and try anything, anywhere with anyone', Colin has a more comprehensive outlook than most club instructors. The C&NMAA actually insists that its students go to other martial arts clubs as part of their Kyu grade training.

Having attained his black belt in Atemi Jutsu with local instructors Ben Reddock and Nigel Beach, Colin joined Budo of Great Britain where he trained with the late founder Reginald H Bleakman and Soke Ian Steadman, where he then gained his black belt in Judo and Aikido.

Colin is also associated with Fudoshin Martial Arts Association where he gained his Shotokan Karate black belt through Sensei Keith Hall.

Colin completed his Sho dan in Iaido within the British Kendo Association under Sensei Faye Goodman.

Due to the passing away of Sensei Bleakman and Soke Steadman retireing, Colin recently joined Bushido ZaZen with Sensei Jim Lawson and a new family of World class instructors.
